Chasing The Light
Finding the joy each day, even if you think it's not there ...
As photographers, we’re conditioned to “chase the light”. I look at every image I make based of the surrounding light and how it dances off the subject. My favorite for of photography is usually shooting directly into the sun … LOL! But I also love the shadowy goodness of a single shaft of light, streaking across a bright green leaf or the vibrant backside of a bloom lit from behind. It brings me a lot of joy when I see these images!
I think (at least for me) that life can be about “chasing the light” also. I think if we are aware and diligent, we can chase the joy - shimmer - glimmer of everyday life if we just look for it.
It’s hard some days. It’s really hard these days … but I’ve tasked myself with trying to find at least one “joy” each and every day. Whether it be a really fun song on the radio as I drive into work, a delicious donut that a co-worker brought into the office or the sun shining bright on my face after this long winter.
The joy is out there. We just have to open our eyes and see it. I challenge you to “chase the joy” as much as you can!
We’re headed to Phoenix on Thursday morning. Plans are to rent a car and drive up to Sedona that afternoon. We’re told a “cold spell” is coming and there may be a dusting of snow that night!! I’m locked and loaded with my film camera, 5 rolls of film and the loaner digital Fujifilm X100VI :)
I hope you have a great rest of the week and weekend, see you on the flip-side!!
Till next time,
Jenn xoxo

Gorgeous collection of images, Jenn. I love the vibrant colors, especially seeing as it's a very great Seattle day here. I'm excited to hear what you think about the Fuji. It's such a tempting little camera!
Have a great time in Sedona and check out Mariposa for dinner. Delicious!!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos.
